Groton Country Club Swim Team wins Championship - Again!
For the second year in a row, the Groton Country Club (GCC) swim team has dominated Division II swimming in the Summer Aquatic League! Dedicated swimmers, ranging in age from 5 to 18, competed in a flawless season, winning all of their 7 dual swim meets and concluding the season with a resounding win at the league championships! Swimmers on the team come from Groton, Westford, Dunstable, Pepperell, Harvard, Littleton and Acton. The talented coaching staff was led by local swimming professional, Carol Fosdick-Wright, and assisted by Brian McNeil, Tim Kelly, Dylan Parker-Roach, and Peter Bue.

From Dunstable - Shannon Spang took home 3 gold medals for the 12 and under girls' medley relay, backstroke, and freestyle relay and a 2nd in freestyle. Brian Regan brought home the gold for the boys 12 and under medley relay and a 5th in the butterfly, while Liam Wash took 5th in boys 10 and under breaststroke.

From Groton - Ryan McCarthy took 1st in 18 and under boys butterfly, 2nd in IM and 3rd in freestyle while Kelsey took 1st in 14 and under girls backstroke. Izzy Lawrence took 1st in girls 14 and under backstroke and 2nd in freestyle, butterfly and freestyle relay. The Bonnett family was well represented with Heather taking 1st in the 12 and under girls medley relay and 2nd in butterfly, Renee got a 2nd in girls 10 and under breaststroke, and Brian got 4th in boys 8 and under butterfly. Leanne Mueller took 1st in the 12 and under girls freestyle relay and 4th in backstroke. The Franscisco family was everywhere with Charlotte taking 1st in the 14 and under girls breaststroke and freestyle relay. Amy took 1st in the 18 and under freestyle relay and 3rd in backstroke and Sarah took 3rd in 12 and under backstroke. Brooke Alnwick took first in the girls 12 and under freestyle relay and 3rd in freestyle.
From Westford - The Gosselin family was a force to be reckoned with. Elise took 1st in the 12 and under girls medley relay and 3rd in breaststroke, Grace took 1st in the girls 10 and under medley relay, freestyle and freestyle relay, and Emma ruled the 8 and under girls division with a 1st in freestyle and backstroke. Cory Peters took second in the 18 and under boys medley relay and backstroke as well as a 3rd in butterfly. Hannah Clarke dominated the 6 and under girls with 1st in freestyle and backstroke. Mary Jane Baker took home the gold in 18 and under breaststroke and freestyle as well as second in the freestyle relay. The Beatty family swam well, Derek took 1st in the boys 8 and under backstroke and butterfly and 2nd in freestyle. Evan was 2nd in 10 and under boys freestyle and butterfly. Thomas Vining took 1st in boys 10 and under freestyle, backstroke and breast stroke, and 2nd in the medley relay.
From Acton, Julien Webb took 2nd in the medley and freestyle relay, and 3rd in boys 14 and under butterfly.
From Harvard, Kamryn Stecyk took 1st in girls 8 and under backstroke and butterfly as well as 2nd in freestyle.
From Pepperell, Olivia Dunsmoor took 2nd in girls 6 and under backstroke and 3rd in freestyle.
