Helen KennedyThe Dunstable Free Public Library was recently honored with a bequest from the estate of Helen Lydia Jones Kennedy. Helen Kennedy was the wife of Robert M. Kennedy son of John R. and Christine Kennedy.

Originally from Marshfield, MA, she attended Bridgewater Teaching College and came to Dunstable to visit some friends. That is when she met and married Robert. They visited Dunstable often as they traveled extensively.

This bequest is in honor of her two sisters-in-law Lucy Kennedy and Ruth Chaney. Since both Lucy and Ruth graduated from the Massachusetts School of Art in Boston the funds will be used in part to support the library's collection of art-related materials. Library Director Mary Beth Pallis said she is very pleased to have Christine Kennedy and Susan Psaledakis, Helen Kennedy's nieces, working closely with the library in determining how this money can most effectively be used for the Library's collection and the community.
