from the office of State Rep. Robert S. Hargraves

State Representative Robert Hargraves names grants totaling $27,200 awarded by the Massachusetts Cultural Council to the local Cultural Councils of the First Middlesex District and to the Nashua River Watershed Association.

The Massachusetts Cultural Council conferred $4000 grants upon each of the Cultural Councils of Ayer, Dunstable, Groton, Pepperell and Townsend. According to the MCC, the Councils support community-based projects that explore local arts and history, expand education and accessibility, and celebrate diversity.

The Nashua River Watershed Association's $7200 grant under MCC's Organizational Support Program is intended to promote a healthy ecosystem with clean water and open spaces for human and wildlife communities, where people work together to sustain mutual economic and environmental well being.
