Paintings by Janice Toth
Janet TothJanice Toth began painting at a young age with formal oil painting and drawing lessons at the Ogunquit Art Center in Ogunquit, Maine. Her passion for art led her to pursue other classes in oil and watercolor painting, drawing and printmaking during college in the midwest, as well as at the Mass. College of Art and the School of The Museum of Fine Arts. Janice has continued developing her art through workshops and participation in artist groups in the local area.

Janice has exhibited her art in many group and individual exhibits all over New England, including exhibits at the Copley Society of Boston, The University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. (Shows where you can see her work exhibited are listed on her website: http://webpages.charter.net/jan-toth/)  She participates annually in shows sponsored by the Dunstable Artisans, the Copley Society of Boston, and the Rhode Island Watercolor Society. She has been a member of the Dunstable Artisans since 1995.

Janice has been living in Dunstable for over ten years now. For most of that time, Janice has enjoyed teaching art to children and adults in local schools and in her studio. On two separate occasions, she received Artists Grants from the Mass. Cultural Council that allowed her to teach summer arts camps for children. In April 2004, she worked with the Library to put together a Junior Art Show that exhibited the artwork of many of the young artists she has worked with. Unfortunately, her schedule has grown so busy over the past year or so that she has not had much time to provide formal lessons in art.

The Groton Dunstable Educational Foundation was pleased to have Janice donate one of her watercolors, Boston Brownstone, to the auction for their Antique Preview Party, Auction & Dance on October 8th. (It's not too late to get tickets to that event so you can bid on this painting.)

Janice spends as much time as possible outdoors painting the changing New England landscape. She can also be found in her own back yard painting the gardens around her home. She loves to paint botanicals.
