Celebrating our 100th Newsletter!
After 2-1/2 years of publishing news for the Dunstable community, we sent our 100th newsletter out in email this week. So, we hope you'll bear with us while we toot our horn a bit to celebrate.
Even after cutting back on our efforts, we're pleased to see that we still have a lot of reader activity, and new people are subscribing to the newsletter. In fact, we recently crossed a threshold in the number of newsletter subscribers that has us looking for a better/cheaper way to publish the newsletter - one that doesn't increase in cost more, just because we have a lot of subscribers. We think we've found that solution, so you may see a few changes when we switch to the new system.
Although we occasionally slip a few days, or take a week off, we generally try to send the newsletter out on weekly basis, even if there isn't a lot of new content. Getting the word out quickly is often what's needed most.
One of the most satisfying parts of publishing Dunstable Commons is knowing that it provides a channel that people can use to reach out to others in the community to get them involved in the various community activities you're involved in. We also like to think we are helping to build a better informed community. Even if people are just reading the headlines, it raises community awareness of what's going on... However, you seem to read more than just the headlines. Our website traffic stats tell us that many people are reading the articles we publish. That's what keeps us going.
As long as you keep reading, we'll keep publishing.
Who knows? In another few years, we might be bragging about our 200th issue.
Thanks for reading.
